Own the Dirt

Six Months. One Guided Mission at a Time.

One new mission unlocks at a time, at your own pace, with Coach Guerin guiding you through every step. Every one is focused, and something you actually go do. The point isn't to finish fast. The point is to become the player coaches trust, because you prepared when nobody was watching.

The 8 modules inside Own the Dirt

01

Ready Every Pitch

Pre-pitch routine, positioning, and situational awareness, so you're never caught off guard.

02

Win Your Feet

Footwork and first-step quickness that get you to the ball before it gets past you.

03

Hands You Can Trust

Glove work and transfers that hold up under real game pressure, not just in a line of grounders.

04

Finish the Play

Throwing mechanics and accuracy to complete what your feet and hands started.

05

Slow the Game Down

Reading the hitter, anticipating the play, and thinking a step ahead of the ball.

06

Trust Yourself

The mental game: playing with confidence, handling mistakes, and staying free out there.

07

Raise the Standard

Leadership and communication, becoming the teammate coaches and players count on.

08

Own the Dirt

The graduation module. Proving, on the field, that you've become the player you set out to be.

Every mission is designed to deliver one meaningful improvement to your game. The value isn't measured by how many videos you watched. It's measured by the player you've become after six months of intentional work.

Meet your coach

Blake Guerin

D1 Infielder Big Ten · University of Iowa Sun Belt · South Alabama Youth Coaching · Blizzard Baseball MN

I didn't start Built For The Dirt to build a course. I started it because I kept seeing the same thing on every field I coached: talented players who could go through the motions but froze the second the game sped up. They had the tools. Nobody had taught them how to think.

I played three years at the University of Iowa in the Big Ten and a season at South Alabama in the Sun Belt, competing against guys who'd go on to get drafted. Since then I've coached hundreds of players through Blizzard Baseball and one-on-one film work, and the players who separate themselves aren't always the most athletic ones. They're the ones who know where to be before the ball's even hit.

That's what Built For The Dirt is built around: baseball IQ and the confidence that comes from actually understanding the game, not repeating a drill until it looks right. I break down your film, tell you exactly what to work on, and stay in it with you. I'm a coach who's watching, not a course you buy and forget.

If you want a player who thinks the game, not just plays it, let's get to work.

The Outcome

Who You Become

This isn't about how many videos you watched. It's about the player who shows up to tryouts next spring.

You think faster

You know the situation before the pitch. You're not reacting anymore, you're anticipating.

You move better

Footwork that holds up when the game speeds up, not just when you're taking grounders in a line.

You trust yourself

You make the routine play. Every time. And when you don't, you know how to let it go.

You lead

You communicate. You set the standard. Teammates look at you when it gets tight.

Why this is different

Most infielders are taught reps. You'll be taught the game.

The usual advice

"Stay low. Soft hands. Two feet."

Most infielders get the same cues on repeat, but nobody's teaching them where to be before the ball's even hit, how to read the hitter, or the footwork that actually holds up in a game.

Team practice is rushed. Travel coaches are stretched thin. And generic online drills don't tell your player what they specifically need to fix.

The shift

I'm Blake Guerin, and I played Division I infield at the University of Iowa (Big Ten) and the University of South Alabama (Sun Belt). I'm not guessing at what the next level wants. I lived it. I break down your film the way a college coach would, then give you the exact mechanical and mental adjustments to make.

You don't just get drills. You get the why: the read, the positioning, the decision, so the game slows down for you.

The three pillars

What we build, together

Every breakdown and every coaching plan is built on these three things.

01

Hands & Feet

Fielding mechanics, footwork, transfers, and double-play feeds and turns: the technique that holds up under real game pressure.

02

Baseball IQ

Pre-pitch routine, positioning, reads, situational awareness, and decision speed: knowing where the play is before the ball is hit.

03

The Next-Level Lens

What college coaches actually look for, taught by someone who lived it, so you train toward the standard you're chasing.

How it works

"Playing with Blake Guerin was a privilege as a fellow player. A guy who leads by example on and off the field. I've never played with someone who has been as positive as Blake on a baseball field. For the amount of mental stress that baseball players go through, Blake made it seem so easy. That just speaks to his character and the kind of person he is off the field. I wouldn't want to follow behind anyone as much as I would with Blake."

"I first started coaching Blake in Little League. He was always extremely curious about the details of the game. From mechanics, like backhands and picking balls, to the mental aspects of the game, like positioning and situational plays, Blake, above anyone else, wanted to know the details. He continued to have that curiosity, and along with putting in the work, he developed into one of the most mechanically sound and mentally engaged players I have ever seen. Blake knows baseball."

"Blake was one of the greatest teammates and friends that I have ever met and I'm so glad baseball brought us together. He always came to the field with a smile on his face and never looked like he had a bad day. He was also a super smart baseball player and we've had some in-depth talks about fielding and hitting that really helped me. All love for this guy!"

"I've had the opportunity to play alongside Blake Guerin for the past three years at the University of Iowa, and he's one of the best teammates and leaders I've been around. Blake brings relentless energy, professionalism, and a team-first mindset to everything he does, setting the standard for those around him. His work ethic and attention to detail have challenged me to become a better player every day. More importantly, he leads through his actions, earning the respect of everyone in the clubhouse. Blake's passion for developing athletes and growing the game is genuine, and I have no doubt he'll make a lasting impact through this brand. I confidently recommend Blake to any player looking to elevate their game and learn from someone who has truly lived it."

"Blake was one of the best teammates I ever played with. He always brought opening day energy every day. Whether he was 0-4 or 4-4 he was the same guy. He wants to see you succeed at whatever it is you do. He continues to check in time and time again and it means a lot when he reaches out. Blake is a guy who you want in your corner!"
Noah S. High School Player
"Blake has been the fuel source to tremendous gains and growth in all aspects of my craft this summer, and I am truly grateful for it. Despite being a young coach, he provides advice that requires extensive experience and hours of work himself, but teaches in a way that is easy for players to understand and pick up on. As an infielder, he has helped me in various situations so that I am most set up for success, and has instilled confidence in me both in success and struggle. I first met Blake when I was ten years old, and as a current high school player, he has brought the same positive and welcoming energy that puts a smile on faces around him every single day."
Vinny C. High School Player
"Coach Blake brings great energy and leads with extensive knowledge and experience. He has a unique ability to help players understand different play types by breaking down complex strategies into simple, actionable steps. His patience and constructive feedback makes a huge difference in the team's confidence while helping us continue to deeply understand the game. Blake has specifically increased my ability in the infield by helping with a mental approach before each pitch and bettering my footwork with a variety of drills. I am glad to have Blake as a coach, it has been a great summer full of success and fun."

Questions

Good to know

What if I don't have game film? +

Practice reps or even backyard drill clips work to start. We can build from whatever footage you have, and I'll tell you exactly what to capture next.

What ages and levels do you work with? +

Infielders from youth through high school and recruits, ages 8 to 18+. Every breakdown and plan is tailored to the player's level and goals.

Can beginners join? +

Yes. Own the Dirt starts with the fundamentals and builds from there, one mission a day, so a first-year infielder and a varsity starter both get a plan that fits where they're at.

Is this just for shortstops? +

No. All infield positions, plus position-specific reads and footwork for each spot on the diamond.

What do I need to get started? +

A phone to record film and a way to share a video link (Google Drive or Hudl). That's it.

When does Own the Dirt open? +

It's being built now. Get on the list below and you'll be first to know, and you'll lock in founder pricing before it goes up.

What's the difference between Own the Dirt and 1-on-1 coaching? +

Own the Dirt is the full six-month guided infield program: 100+ missions you move through one at a time, at your own pace, with a monthly coaching call from Blake built in. 1-on-1 coaching is direct time with me on your specific game and your specific film. Plenty of players do both.

Is Own the Dirt a subscription? +

It's a monthly membership at $99/mo, and founder members lock that rate in for as long as they stay enrolled.
